Can I use a Google Group Email Account in SharedInbox?

What are Google Groups/Group Emails? #

Google Groups allow users to email everyone in a group with a single email address. They function similarly to aliases on other email platforms. For more info, see Google’s documentation.

Are aliases/Google Groups supported? #

Unfortunately, we do not support Google Groups in SharedInbox. They function similarly to email aliases but the extended functionality that Google provides (like sending as the group address) is internal to the Gmail client. Google groups also do not support creating an app password, which is currently required for connection to SharedInbox. You can still connect individual addresses to SharedInbox and have users collaborate within Slack or convert your group email address to an actual Google account.
