Connecting a Yahoo Email to Slack

With SharedInbox, you can connect and manage your Yahoo email all from your Slack workspace. Once you’ve connected a Yahoo mail address to one of your Slack channels, you’ll be able to receive incoming mail, reply to email, compose new mail, and assign and track emails as tasks to your team members all within Slack! 🚀

Steps to Connect a Yahoo Email to Slack #

  1. Go to the Connect an Email page or click Connect+ from the dashboard sidebar.
  2. Select the Yahoo! icon

  3. On the next page, add your Yahoo email account info.

    Fill in the following:
    • Account name
      Your sender name. Typically your name, or a name for the shared email, for example, “Support” or “Customer Service”.
    • Yahoo Email
      The email address you’re connecting to Slack.
    • Yahoo App Password
      A secure password that you create via your Yahoo account (not your regular Yahoo password!). Check out the steps here on how to generate a Yahoo app password to use with SharedInbox.
    • Select a Slack Channel for this inbox
      This is the Slack channel where you’ll manage your email. This can be a public or private Slack channel. For private channels, note you’ll need to also invite the @SharedInbox app to the channel (more info here).
  4. Click the Next > button to finish the setup.

    You can now hop over to Slack to start sending email, checking new email, assigning tasks, etc… Enjoy!
